Vintage

Adding a vintage collar to an outfit can transform it into something unique & so feminine...

Modern

We have added some vintage collars to our shop too...

...& a collar and cuff set which would make any outfit stunning....

 Did you watch The Great British Sewing Bee on BBC 2 (UK t.v.)?

We loved it although each week we've had a different contender for first prize. Each had their own specialities but in the end, Ann was crowned the winner & extremely well-deserved. She was obviously a very experienced sewer (over 75 years!) & worked so methodically through her patterns & challenges. Our only critcism....it ended too soon! Looking forward to the second series.

  Well, April arrived & lived up to expectations......"drip drip drop, little April Showers"......

To be honest, it's been cold, wet & miserable bar one or two afternoons of warm sunshine.

The French love to decorate their shelves using all kinds trimmings ranging from lace to purpose-made embroidered lengths.

 We've added a couple of lovely items to the shop this week.

Both can be used as shelf edging, although one began life as a belt.

It can still be used as a belt if you have a small waist

but, if not, why not decorate a shelf with a little bit of French je ne sais quoi.

For anyone in the area this weekend, there is a marché aux fleurs (flower market)

in Bergerac on Sunday 14th April with profits going to cancer research.

Apart from Easter, we have another reason to celebrate this week.
We've been featured in the U.K. magazine, Handmade. Yay!

Handmade is a new magazine featuring projects to make for the home.
There are some lovely items like the cute egg cozies on the cover, just right for Easter.

We are featured on page 46 in their "Website Watch", highlighting our laces & buttons.

We have quite a few laces, buttons, trims & edgings in the shop at the moment.
When you a minute, pop in and have a look.

When sourcing, we try to look for interesting & pretty designs particularly if they have a French feel, like the coloured trims appearing in the shop this week. 

There are endless ways to use laces & buttons  from clothing  to trimming items for the home...
