La vie est faite de petits bonheurs…

A pocket full of ........

source

Where has the last couple of weeks gone? Who would have thought a new puppy would take up soooo much of my time! More about that later....

These little embroidered pockets may have started life to hold a serviette for the school canteen or to store hankies. Today they can be given a new lease of life by using them to hold many other things. I have one to keep my crochet hooks in, Kelly uses hers to hold small pieces of jewelry. They are so useful & pretty too. What would you keep in yours?

A pretty cross-stitch flower and tendrils design - great for holding sewing notions.

Embroidered with flowers & a monogram E S - who do you think owned this one?
Élodie Sarrazin, perhaps.

Striking red embroidery has been used to embellish this one.....& A C?
Maybe Anoinette Castang...

All three are available in the shop now...

You may remember a few weeks ago Kelly got a puppy called Peanut from our local rescue centre. He's now about four months old and getting big.

My family had also been thinking of getting a puppy for a long time, & then the rescue centre received a litter of border collie cross puppies that had been left in a dustbin. How could anyone do that?! They were only about two weeks old & very poorly. Anyway, thanks to a foster carer, they are now healthy & old enough to be re-homed. So we have an adorable addition to our family called Harley. We can't imagine life without him.

On the shelf...

Well, April arrived & lived up to expectations......"drip drip drop, little April Showers"......
To be honest, it's been cold, wet & miserable bar one or two afternoons of warm sunshine.
Où est le soliel? I say!

The French love to decorate their shelves using all kinds trimmings ranging from lace to purpose-made embroidered lengths.

Main: Petit Pica

We've added a couple of lovely items to the shop this week.
Both can be used as shelf edging, although one began life as a belt.

All items Petit Pica

Except: Jam Tarts, Bowls
It can still be used as a belt if you have a small waist
but, if not, why not decorate a shelf with a little bit of French je ne sais quoi.

Pretty spring flowers in Bergerac......taken between rain showers.
For anyone in the area this weekend, there is a marché aux fleurs (flower market)
